Job title Dock Coordinator Reports to Shipping Supervisor Job purpose Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor or Plant Manager in their absence, the Dock Coordinator will be the key owner/go to for our dock operations and customer critical support functions. Primary and Secondary Duties and responsibilities The Primary duties of this position are as follows: • Customer Pick-Ups. Create and manage an effective process for taking care of our customers who choose to pick up their material. • Commercial Shipping. Partner with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure that all commercial shipments are prepared, staged and loaded accurately and on time. • Urgent customer requests. Shall receive, pick and prepare any rush or urgent customer orders. • Receiving. Assist in the unloading of Containers. • Safety. Follow all rules of the road including ODOT, DOT, OSHA and Company procedures. Will report any medical conditions or prescriptions (including eye) that may affect performance. Secondary duties and Responsibilities based on the needs of the company may include but not limited to: • Order Processing. May support the shipping department on as needed basis • Preventative Maintenance. Conduct general inspections and maintenance of all vehicles and stay current on oil change schedules, tags, insurance, fuel, etc. • General Warehouse. Assist in other warehouse operations per the Supervisors direction. Packaging, Assembly, etc. • Housekeeping. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This will include trash removal, pallet removal, sweeping, etc. and to immediately correct or report any Safety issues. This includes inside the cab and also inside the box bed of the truck Qualifications These minimum qualifications are necessary to be considered for this position. • Computer skills such as WMS, ERP and Excel, RF Scanner • Clean driving history • Above average Communication skills required. A good attitude and pleasant customer service skills • Must be Driven, results oriented and accountable. This person must OWN their areas of responsibility. Develop a level of Pride and Excellence within the department. • High School Diploma or GED. • Attention to detail is required. • Quality care of product when handling. • Ability to read and interpret pick tickets, BOL's, Manifests and Packing Slips. • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds using safe lifting practices and mechanical devices. • Ability to use material handling, forklift equipment. • Organizational, load planning, warehouse optimization. • Box truck and delivery experience preferred. Working conditions Must express ability to work regular, evening and weekend hours (when required) and understand you may be exposed to the outside environment while loading. Warehouse environment with typical dust and temperature ranges found in Northeast Ohio. If driving a company vehicle NO TEXTING, CALLING unless blue tooth is available, per company cell-phone policy. Physical requirements The incumbent is expected to perform their duties on their feet for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects up to 80 pounds on a regular basis, do repetitive tasks while implementing safe lifting and work technique.
