The Meaning of Membership
Church membership is a meaningful, biblical way of belonging—not meant to keep people out, but to draw believers into shared responsibility and care. It invites committed relationships marked by love, service, and humility. Scripture describes the church as a family, where members use their gifts for one another, carry each other’s burdens, and resist the pull of individualism and consumerism. These commitments shape our life together, both in our care for one another and in our relationship with church leadership. When lived out according to God’s Word, church membership nurtures accountability, deep care, and spiritual growth, allowing believers to experience the fullness of life together as the body of Christ.
