Called to Love, Bless, Be Blessed
The gospel of our salvation—purchased by Christ through his suffering—gives us both a model of love and a future hope. In 1 Peter 3, Peter expounds on what this message means for the Church. We are called to love like Jesus, intentionally and sacrificially, to bless others even when being mistreated, and to seek their good above our own. Finally, as we live this cruciform life marked by humble unity and brotherly love, we will also partake in the blessings that flow from being united with Christ—the nearness of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.
