Forget Not All His Benefits
The Christian life is often marked by superficial happiness rather than the deep joy that should rise in our souls when we reflect on the riches we have in Christ. In Psalm 103, David connects spiritual emptiness with forgetfulness. As he deliberately remembers God’s goodness, his heart turns to devotion. He is overwhelmed by God's steadfast, immeasurable, gentle, and enduring love—fully embodied in Christ, who overcomes our sin by taking the judgment we deserve onto himself. David’s remembrance culminates in doxology as he considers the vastness of God’s rule and calls on the heavens to join him in praise.
