Authority and Orthodoxy

The Judaizers in Galatia taught that salvation came through faith plus works, but Paul denounced this as a distortion of the true gospel. In his letter to the Galatians, he immediately affirmed both his authority as an apostle and the truth of his message. Paul emphasized that the gospel cannot change: we are justified by faith in Christ alone. From the beginning, God’s plan was fulfilled through Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice. Though dead in our sins and powerless to save ourselves, God sent his only Son to live and die in our place, reconciling us to himself and enabling us to live in his grace and peace.
