The Apostle’s Alibi
In Galatians 1:13–24, Paul defends his apostleship by recounting his dramatic conversion and divine calling. Once a zealous persecutor of the church, Paul’s story magnifies the transforming grace of God. His violent past and misplaced religious zeal show that sincerity without truth cannot save. But when Christ revealed himself, everything changed—Paul was set apart by grace and sent to proclaim the gospel he received directly from Jesus. His testimony, confirmed by history and integrity, silences false accusations and reminds us that God’s sovereign grace can redeem even the chief of sinners for his glory.
