Looking Back
Psalm 9 invites believers to look back with gratitude—remembering God’s faithfulness. As we reflect, we must hold fast to two central truths. First, our greatest problem is always our own sin. Though life brings real suffering, the deeper danger is the bitterness that grows within us. God’s gracious gift of repentance frees us to confess, turn from sin, and extend the forgiveness we have received in Christ. Second, God always gives what is best. Even when circumstances feel overwhelming or painful, his wise and loving providence uses every trial to help us to grow in Christlike holiness.
