Trusting God in the Wildnerness
After years of wandering in the desert, the Israelites began to complain and long for their days in Egypt. As a response, God sent deadly venomous snakes—a poignant reminder of their oppression and captivity in Egypt. When Moses cried out to God, He provided salvation. Anyone who looked to the serpent on the pole would live. There was no power in the serpent itself, but the act of looking was evidence of their faith in God’s power. Like the Israelites, our salvation is completely dependent upon God, and anyone who looks to Christ in faith, will live.
