Two Sides of One Coin
The children of God share both in the suffering of Christ, as well as his glory. In Romans 8, Paul speaks of glorification, a future event, as though it has already happened. Our future hope is guaranteed—chosen for us before the creation of the world, and secured for us by Christ’s death and resurrection. We wait patiently, knowing that the days God has ordained for us, no matter how difficult, are working together for our good and his glory. We wait eagerly because of the promise that the things we suffer pale in comparison to the glory that awaits us.
