Safety, Security and Salvation
Psalm 91 portrays a king who is protected from all harm. Because it is Jesus, and not an earthly king referenced in Psalm 91, those who are united to him through faith share in everything promised in this Psalm. However, rather than keeping us from all harm, King Jesus walks with us through the hardships of life. While this psalm is not written directly about us, it is written for us—believers can take heart in the fact that the only One who dwells perfectly in the shadow of the Almighty, holds us firmly in the palm of his hand.
