There Is a Higher Throne
In a prophetic vision, Daniel sees four terrifying beasts. Although this prophecy points to the coming of four oppressive and domineering empires, it is also meant to function as a pattern describing all earthly kingdoms. When we seek to exercise dominion apart from the one true sovereign ruler, we become beasts—monsters and tyrants who wreak havoc on our domain. Finally, at the end of his vision, Daniel sees a man with divine characteristics—the Son of Man coming in the flesh to rescue his people and usher them into his kingdom that will have no end.
