A Message of Comfort
The opening verses of Nahum describe God as jealous and vengeful, delivering divine justice through his righteous anger. Treacherous as this may sound, the prophet Nahum speaks these words as a comfort to God’s people. Since nothing and no one can stand before God, his people are kept securely in his hand. At the cross, Jesus experienced the full wrath of God, providing a way for those who trust in Him to now take refuge and run to him. We can trust fully that God who keeps us, who sent His Son to die for us, is continually at work, making all things right.
