Supported Workers: Goran (& Beth) Tomic, Matt (& Laura) Pheneger, Ambassadors Football, Jon (& Ruthie)
Country: United States of America
Details: Over the years, Ambassadors has been used to prepare others to utilize soccer as a ministry tool in countries around the world. A family preparing to go to Colombia is living in Puebla, Mexico. Through a friend, the family was introduced to Ambassadors Football. They expressed gratitude, sharing that it has prepared them for ministry in a new way and has allowed their children to form friendships in the new country. Ambassadors in Northeast Ohio recently received two missionaries who are preparing to serve in Rwanda. For two weeks, they were trained and encouraged through the ongoing ministries here. Pray for these two missionary families as they prepare to serve in Colombia and Rwanda. New Zealand (Pacific). Population: 5,251,899 Believers: 18.2%. Christianity is on a precipitous decline in New Zealand. The largest group is now “no religion” at 48%. New Age spirituality focuses on individualism and nature and attracts many Kiwis (New Zealanders) who feel disappointed by the church. But 24/7 prayer rooms and other recent prayer groups prove that God still moves in the Kiwi church! The recent decline is more a case of the pruning of nominal Christianity—what remains is much more alive. Pray that God will pour his Holy Spirit into the church and draw back the many who have left.
