Lessons on the Law
Grasping the distinction between God’s commands and his promises is vital for a clear understanding of the gospel. Galatians 3:15–22 explores how the law and the gospel serve distinct yet harmonious purposes in the life of a believer. The law was never intended to replace God’s prior promises. Rather, it functions as a necessary diagnostic tool. Like a spiritual CT scan, it exposes the terminal condition of our sin, stripping away all self-righteousness. By revealing our helplessness, the law graciously drives us to our only cure: the finished and perfect work of Jesus Christ.
